William “Bill” B. Hillyard Jr., 66, of Chester, passed, Monday, September 14, 2020, at the East Liverpool City Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Born, December 16, 1953, in East Liverpool, he was a son of the late William and Elizabeth Carpenter Hillyard.
Bill was a 1972 graduate of Oak Glen High School. He retired after 42 years of working in the Maintenance Department at Homer Laughlin China Company.
Bill did not brag about it, but his family and others who knew him say he was the epitome of a handyman and a “Jack of all trades”. He enjoyed working on his tractors, shooting his gun, and tinkering with anything he could get his hands on.
Bill found joy in helping anyone who needed a hand, especially his family. He will be deeply missed by his son, William “Nathan” Hillyard and his wife, Carrie of Evansville, IN.; daughter, Elizabeth Powell and her husband Zach of Chester; sister, Patricia Hillyard of Marlinton, WV. and four grandchildren, Stasey and Kaylee Hillyard, Katelyn Henson, and Isaac Powell.
Visitation will be held at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, Friday, September 18, 2020, from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM.
