William D. “Bill” Owings, 52, of Pittsburgh, formerly of New Cumberland, passed away unexpectedly from a sudden illness, Friday, February 15, 2019.
Born April 22, 1966, in Steubenville, he was the son of William and Virginia Beebout Owings of New Cumberland.
Bill was a 1984 graduate of Oak Glen High School. He was a graduate of Marshall University where he received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in Public Administration. Bill was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha when he attended Marshall University.
He was employed as a Safety Manager for ProFrac Services.
Bill played Rugby for Marshall University and was a member of the Pittsburgh Rugby Club. He was also a member of the Mason’s Lodge in Pittsburgh, PA. Ever the lifelong learner, those who knew Bill rarely saw him without a history book.
He is survived by his wife, Michele Cunningham Owings of Pittsburgh; daughter, Madison Owings of Pittsburgh; brother, Jeffrey Owings and his wife Robin of Chattanooga, TN, and by his sister, Alyssa Mick and her husband Brian of New Cumberland, WV.
Rev. Mark Wilds will celebrate Bill’s life on Monday, February 18, 2019, at 11:00 AM, at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Friends may visit with his family, Sunday, February 17, 2019, from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM.
