William Perry Barker,97, formerly of Wellsville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday, Aug. 30, 2020 at Continuing Care in Lisbon following a lengthy illness.
Born, January 14, 1923, in Moundsville, WV., he was a son of the late Charles and Anna Whitlatch Barker.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Velma Barker and by his brothers, Charles, and Edward Barker.
Bill married the love of his life Velma, and together they shared 67 years together. It gives us great peace knowing that they are dancing on the streets of heaven together.
Bill was an Army veteran of World War II; and he was the former owner of Patterson Industries and Tru-Vel Industries.
Bill loved being involved in the community. He believed that community involvement was the only way to keep a community vibrant and moving forward. He was a member of the Wellsville Masonic Lodge #108, becoming a 33rd degree Master Mason for 70 years. Bill was a member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masons in Steubenville and he was a Shriner, sponsoring children to the Shriner’s Hospitals. He served on the East Liverpool City Hospital and Kent State Board of Directors.
Bill was a member of First Christian Church in Steubenville.
He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Trudy Barker of Wellsville, grandchildren. Branden Andrews, Skilar Meek and Logen Andrews; great grandchildren, Dacianelle and Lanease Andrews, Zayvier Wynn and Mazie Andrews. He will also be missed by his two nieces, two nephews and many friends.

Per the families wishes a private graveside service will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery. The Arner Funeral Chapel was entrusted with his arrangements.
