Pittsburgh, PA.
Walter N. Klindworth of Allison Park entered heaven’s gate on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. Walt was born in Bellevue on March 15, 1926. He recently celebrated his 96th birthday with friends and family. His parents were the late Walter D. and Mildred Herbick Klindworth.
Walt had a long and successful career before retiring as general manager of the St. Regis Paper Company. He was a member of the Pittsburgh Rotary, Highland Country Club, the Allegheny Club at Three Rivers Stadium, Bellevue Masonic Lodge, Emanuel's, and St. Johns Lutheran Church, and he was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps. Walt was a 1944 graduate of Bellevue High School, and a 1950 graduate of Thiel College, where he was a proud member of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. He enjoyed an immense love of golf and travel. Even though he was the recipient of great personal and professional accomplishments, his greatest was his family. Walt was the epitome of what a son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend should be. For this, the memories of his life will be honored and cherished.
Along with his parents, his wife, Gretchen Arner Klindworth, and his son, John Klindworth preceded him in death.
Walt’s legacy will live on with the character and values that he has passed on to his children, Rich (Kate) Klindworth, and Jeff (Louise) Klindworth, his grandchildren, Rich (Kristen), Robby (Deana), Katie (Johnny), Emily (Stephen), Jeff (Erin), and Mary (Ian), and his great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Luke, Sophia, Andrew, Addison, Millie, Hank, and Maxi. He also leaves behind his loving companion of many years, Margaret Grant.
Walt’s close family and friends will celebrate his life at the Arner Funeral Chapel, 607 Carolina Ave., Chester, WV., on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. His friend and neighbor, Pastor Robert Strobel will officiate. Following the services, he will be laid to rest with his wife Gretchen at the Locust Hill Cemetery in Chester.
Memorial contributions should be directed to the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 920 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA. 15229
