Travis James Ralston, 37 of Weirton, WV, formerly of Chester, passed Friday, August 4, 2023, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV, after a one-and-a-half-year hard-fought battle with cancer.
Travis was born on April 14, 1986, in East Liverpool, OH.
The son of Barbie Ralston of Chester, he grew up there and attended Hancock County Schools. Travis graduated from Oak Glen High School in 2004 and received a degree in Information Systems Technology from Potomac State University in 2007.
He was presently employed at Mountaineer Racetrack and Gaming Resort as a supervisor in surveillance. Travis was an avid hockey fan, especially watching and attending Pittsburgh Penguin games. He also enjoyed watching wrestling, UFC fights, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He loved horror movies, collecting comics, and attending comic conventions. He also had a great passion for writing, hoping he was only a chapter or two away from completing the next great American novel.
Travis leaves his wife, Brittany, his mom, Barbie, and brother, Carson, and his kitties, to carry on his memory with eternal love.
He has many friends, relatives, coworkers, and in-laws, who will be forever grateful for Travis having been an integral part of their lives.
Travis’s grandparents, Ed and Marge Wine, and Kenny and Evelyn Ralston, and his father, Tim Ralston preceded him in death.
Friends are invited to join his family for a memorial visitation at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Friday, August 11, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Travis has requested no services. His family will celebrate his life sometime in the future. Memorial donations may be made to the Hancock County Humane Foundation at hancockhumane.org.
