Timothy Craig Lawson of Baton Rouge, LA. stepped into Heaven Friday, February 28, 2020, following a faithful battle with pancreatic cancer. We rejoice in knowing that he is in Heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Tim was born October 13, 1951, in Steubenville, OH to Audrey and Bill Lawson of New Cumberland, WV. He graduated from Oak Glen High School, received his BA. degree and spent his career as a Human Resource Director. On September 5, 2015, he married the love of his life, Tamora Mahaffey Lawson.
Tim Lawson had a fierce love for God and his family, along with his country, he loved history and was an avid golfer. He was a servant leader and passionate about his service at Bethany Church. He will be remembered as a man who impacted others for Christ. Left to cherish his memories, is his beloved wife Tamora, along with parents Audrey and Bill Lawson, son Kris and daughter in love Stacey, their two daughters Mattie and Courtney Lawson, who affectionately referred to him as granddad; daughter Brianne and son in love Dion DiBacco, brother Dave and sister in love Ann, along with numerous nephews, great-nephews, a great-niece, and grandnephew. Preceding Tim in death was his sister, Kimberly Lawson, and his great-nephew, Nathan Lawson. Tim was loved by so many that grieve the loss of his life here on earth and he will be greatly missed.
Tim’s dear friend and brother in Christ, Pastor Alan Robertson will celebrate his life and journey to Heaven at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Friday, March 6, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the New Cumberland Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Tim’s name to Sky Ranch at skyranch.org, Bethany Church at Bethany.com or Whites Ferry Road Church at wfrchurch.org.
