Thomas Hvizdak Obituary

Thomas D. Hvizdak, 82, lifelong resident of Weirton, passed at the Brightwood Center in Follansbee on Friday, November 20, 2020, following a lengthy illness.

A son of the late George Hvizdak Sr., and Mary Mohroski Hvizdak, he was born in Weirton on November 8, 1938.

Tom had worked at Weirton Steel over 40 years, retiring as a solution tender. A 1954 graduate of Weir High, he was a member of the St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church. Tom served his country in the US Army from 1961 to 1963.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, George Hvizdak Jr., and Michael, and John Hvizdak.

He is survived by two nephews.

No services are planned, and the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester is assisting with these arrangements.
