Stephen Michael Sfakis, 49, of East Palestine, passed suddenly due to a massive heart attack, Thursday, August 27, 2020, at the East Liverpool City Hospital.
Born, December 31, 1970, in East Liverpool, he is a son of the late Terry Sfakis and Cheryl Sfakis Buie and stepfather, George Buie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Terry.
Stephen was a 1989 graduate of East Liverpool High School, and he was currently employed as a Manager at Walmart in Calcutta.
His true passion in life was collecting World War II memorabilia and he enjoyed attending conventions and antique dealers. He spent many years learning about pottery and was involved with the Ceramic Museum in East Liverpool.
Stephen will be missed by his mother, Cheryl and George Buie; sister, Anastasia Sfakis of Pittsburgh; wife, Aundrea Backus Sfakis at home; sons, Lane M. Sfakis of Lisbon, Stephen M. Sfakis of Moon, Jonah and Joel Sfakis both of East Liverpool; step-children, Kayla and Travis McCreary and Preston Flowers. He will also be missed by his 10 grandchildren.
Private services will be held at the Arner Funeral Chapel. Interment will be held at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
