Sondra McKinney Wheatley Obituary

 

Sondra McKinney Wheatley, received her heavenly reward, Friday, July 23, 2021, at St. Mary’s at Windsor House in North Lima, OH. She fought a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

She was married to Howard “Keith” Wheatley, who preceded her in death. Their children were Tammy Virden (Tony) of Lisbon, OH., Tina Wheatley of East Liverpool, and John Wheatley (Shannon) of Wellsville.

Sondra’s grandchildren lovingly called her Nee Nee as they got older Neen, and they include Tyler K. Virden and his loving wife, Amy of Columbiana, Tod A. Virden and his loving wife, Lauren of Zelienople, PA., Elijah Ben Piatt of West Point, John Kenneth Piatt of Pryor Creek, OK., MaKenna Rose Wheatley of Wellsville, Landon Keith Wheatley of Wellsville. Sondra was a Great Grandmother to Deegan Keith Virden son of Tyler and Amy Virden, Aiden Scott Virden, and Noah Alexander Virden twin sons of Tod and Lauren Virden.

Sandy was blessed with 3 additional children from her husband's first marriage that she loved and considered her kids and grandkids. They include, Karen Lee (Carl) McComas, Carl McComas passed away the same week as Sandy, he was greatly loved. Their children include Kevan McComas and son Ely, Craig McComas who preceded her in death last year leaving behind his adoring wife, Beth, and their children Marrissa Megan, Matthew, and MacKenzie, Debra Wheatley Kreag (Moe), and their children, Karlie Marie Kreag, Moie Kreag (Ashley) and their daughter, Everley Campbell, Howard Keith Wheatley II who preceded her in death and his wife, Sandy, and their sons, James Keith (Julie) Wheatley Nash their children, Kelsea (Austin) Aldrich, Tommy Wheatley Nash, Gregory Philip (Cass) Wheatley Nash, and their children, Tyler Wheatley Nash,  Amber Wheatley Nash, and Drew Wheatley Nash.

Sondra was one of eight children to Lois (Mac) and Audrey McKinney, who preceded her in death along with Keith Edward McKinney, Kenny McKinney, Joan McKinney Hill. She leaves behind her beloved siblings, Robert Breen McKinney, Gary Michael (Sandy) McKinney, Marlene McKinney Smith, and Thomas Stetson McKinney. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. 

She was Aunt and Nee Nee to many nephews, nieces, and bonus kids, who choose to come to her house where they were loved and well-fed as Sandy showed you how she loved you by feeding her food and baked goods “comfort food” was created by her and used for every and any occasion. Sondra firmly believed in divine health and healing under the ministry of her Pastor Bill Anzevino of Beaver, PA., who graciously officiated her celebration of life ceremony, Sunday for the family gathering at Arner Funeral Chapel.

A special thank you to the staff at St. Mary’s who cared for her like she was their mom. Debbie, Lisa, Robin, Tracey, Lisa you all loved her and treated her well and we cannot thank you enough. We loving called Mom Beaulah her sister, Joan Bertha, and sister Marlene, Sissy and she will forever be remembered for her unwavering faith in God and HIS faithfulness to her and her family. She is praising and singing to JESUS now, her spirit is at Peace.
