Shirley M. Beagle

Shirley M. Beagle, 85, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away, Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Weirton Medical Center, due to ongoing health issues.

Born, January 19, 1936, at home during a blizzard in Little Sancho Middlebourne, WV., she was the daughter of the late, Okey and Zelma Hadley Robinson.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, James B. Beagle, she was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Sherry Cowey-Beagle, and by her siblings, Viola Elaine, Ethel Virginia, Sylvia Geneva, James Glen, Raymond Ray, Gertrude Margaret, Mary Katherine, William George, and Robert Neil.

Shirley was a graduate of Tyler County High School in Middlebourne, WV., she was a homemaker and an all-around handywoman with numerous skills. She took pride in her home and was proud of her family. She enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds, but she had a special love for hummingbirds. She adored her cats and dog Pip and will be missed deeply by them. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother.  She was involved with the band boosters, 4-H, Cub Scouts, and was a church camp cook for many years.  She loved attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities. One thing Shirley was known for was her “Grandma chocolate chip cookies” and she would make them for any requested grandchild or event.

Shirley was devoted to her faith, she was a member of the Virginia Ave Church of Christ. She was active in the Church and served as a greeter for many years. She cherished the friendships that she made over the years and considered them to be part of her family.

Her memory will live on by her children, Randy Beagle (Susan) of New Manchester, Ron Beagle (Debbie) of Chester and Melissa Rosohac (Gary) of New Manchester; grandchildren, Ryan (Heather), Shawn (Nicole Clutter), Joshua, Rachael (Ken), Jay, Nicholas (Paige Hashman), Kaleena, MiKayla (Matt McCune), and Isaac (Eileen Flowers); great grandchildren, Travis, Rhiannon, Hadley, Emma, Colt, and Aliyah, and extended family, Kathy Archer Beagle and Rachel Howard Beagle.

Services will be held at the church that she was so fond of, the Virginia Ave. Church of Christ in Chester, Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Noon. The services will be led by Evangelist Rico Brown of the Church. She will be laid to rest at Shadow Lawn Memorial Gardens in Newell. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Tuesday, when the family will be present from 5-8 p.m. and at the Church on Wednesday, one hour prior to the services.
