Sheila Humphrey Obituary

Sheila Denise Humphrey, 69, of East Liverpool, passed away on Sunday, June 5th, 2022 after being struck in the helmet by a wild turkey while on a motorcycle ride in Carrollton Ohio.

Sheila was born August 11, 1952 in East Liverpool to Jack C and Helen M (Wright) Bonner.  She was a homemaker and mother, active in school activities when her kids were little and was often called “mom” by her kids friends.  Sheila loved taking care of her family more than anything. Her second love was riding the Honda GoldWing and then the trike with her husband Ollie. They have been to every state except Hawaii and seven  Canadian providence as well as Mexico.  Sheila also enjoyed all kinds of puzzles, watching animal videos on Facebook, feeding the squirrels, and watching General Hospital.  She loved watching blues artist Andy J Forest perform and visiting friends in New Orleans and Green Bay. She was a member of the St Clair Avenue Church of Christ. No matter how grim a situation, she was always able to make you laugh with a well-timed line from a movie or an old tv show.

Preceding Sheila in death were her father, Jack C Bonner, and her faithful dog, Tootsie.

Left behind to grieve in her absence are her husband of 48 years, Ollie James Humphrey, whom she married September 21, 1973, a daughter, Kerry M Humphrey of East Liverpool, a son, Oliver J Humphrey Jr and his wife Lauren of Wintersville, a granddaughter, Hollie D Peterson of East Liverpool, a brother, Jack A Bonner and his wife Polly of East Liverpool and a half sister Sherry Dyke of  East Palestine. Sheila is survived by her mother, Helen Bonner. She also leaves behind an  “honorary sister”, Sharon Goemans and her husband Keith of Green Bay, and her beloved “grand dogs”, Sid, Geno, Beemer, Potter, Dawson, Lady, and Sir.

Sheila will be remembered as a sweet soul who loved her family and friends and was regarded as “the greatest mother in the history of the universe” by her kids. She is sadly missed by so many.

As per her wishes, there is no visitation or services planned. A small family dinner will be held in her honor a later date. In lieu of flowers, friends can make a donation in memory of Sheila to Columbiana County Humane Society, PO Box 101, Salem,  Ohio 44460, or online at their website, columbianacountyhumanesociety.com
