Roy Groppe

Roy L. Groppe Sr., 72, of New Cumberland, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at his home. Roy was on a journey his entire life, from the moment he said yes to Jesus. This is not the end, just a new part of his journey. From the moment he said yes, he looked forward to this day of meeting him face to face.

Roy was born, March 8, 1948, in Weirton, he was a son of the late, Roy William and Helen Fraley Groppe.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Pam Groppe; brother, Johnny Benzo, and sister, Roseanne Gilette .

Roy was a graduate of Weir High School Class of 1967. He retired from Weirton Steel, after 25 years of service.

He was a Christian by faith and cherished the word of God. Roy enjoyed shooting pool and he loved his family with everything he had in him.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Tammi Wolfe Groppe, whom he married on February 13, 2013; children, Dawn Bell and her husband Jay of Summerville, SC., Lisa Flanigan and her husband Randy of Beaver, PA., Pam Spring, and her husband Bob of East Springfield, OH., Roy Groppe Jr. of Ravenna, OH. and William Groppe of Bismark, IL.; grandchildren, Robert and Christopher Spring, Kayla Sterns, Raelee, and RJ Groppe. He will also be missed by his great-grandchildren, Christopher Lee, and Archer David Spring.

Private services will be held for his family. Interment will be held at New Cumberland Cemetery. The Arner Funeral Chapel was entrusted with his arrangements.
