Richard Freeland Obituary

Richard G. Freeland, 78, of Negley, passed from this life on February 28, 2020, in his home to begin the greatest adventure.

Born, April 12, 1941, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Emmett and Ethel Robinson Freeland.

Dick was also preceded in death by his sisters, Donna DeBee and Geneva Atkinson.

He was a graduate of Newell High School and a proud veteran of the United States Navy.

Dick was a very dedicated and hardworking man. He started working at age 9 walking horses at Waterford Park, building two homes for his family that he adored and later retiring from AT&T after many years of service.

He loved his dog, Abby, western movies, he had a very artistic talent for painting and handcrafting furniture. Carole and Dick served meals on wheels for numerous years. 

Dick loved his family and will forever be cherished by his wife, Carole Anne Wetzel Freeland; sons, Michael Todd Freeland and his wife Chris of Lisbon, Jeffrey Watson and his wife Tanya of Mount Juliet, TN. and Jonathan Watson of Murfreesboro TN.; daughters, Sarah Freeland Nelson and husband David of Newell, Lisa Watson Hall, and her husband Jeffrey of Columbiana, Kelly Freeland Katayama and her husband Andy of Colorado Springs, CO., Mindy Freeland Michael of East Liverpool, Molly Freeland Tyson and her husband Paul of Hedgesville, WV.; sister, Nancy Cox and her husband George of Newell and Aunt Shirley Beagle of New Manchester. He will also be missed by his 13 grandchildren and great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held, Monday, March 2, 2020, at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, at Noon. Friends may visit with his family, from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
