Patrick J. McGurren Jr., (Michael L. Haney) of Hartville, OH., and formerly of Chester, passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Canton after a hard-fought, four-month-long battle with cancer. He was 64 years old.
Born in East Liverpool on September 23, 1954, he was a son of the late Patrick J. McGurren Sr. and Florence A. Cronin Haney.
Pat was a retired service technician at Ohio Professional Energy and a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Uniontown, OH. A 1972 graduate of Oak Glen High School, he was an EMT and Fireman at Hartville Fire Department and later at Uniontown Fire Department. Also, Pat honorably served his country with the US Navy.
Along with his mother and father, Pat was preceded in death by his adoptive father, Lee Haney.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Margaret Lynn Logston McGurren, they were married on February 14, 1987. Also surviving are his children, Randall Lee Knicley of Little Birch, WV., and Patricia Lynn McGurren of Hartville; his brother, Timothy McGurren of Las Vegas; his sisters, Debbie (Frank) Wood of Vicksburg, MS., and Susan (Bill) Orr of New Manchester; and three grandchildren, Sean McGurren, Faith Gongora, and Randy Lee Knicley.
Father Jeeson Stephan of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will preside for memorial Catholic Funeral Rites at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Friday, November 9 at 1:00 p.m.
