Mary E. Gilliland, 77, of East Liverpool, passed, Saturday, July 29, 2023, at her residence, following a brief illness.
Born, on July 28, 1946, in East Liverpool, she was the daughter of the late, Robert and Bertha Ryan Heffner.
Mary formerly owned and operated Boney’s Bar in Chester, WV. She proudly supported poker runs and donated to Children’s Hospital. Mary was a member of the American Pool Players Association. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mary will be deeply missed by her son, David Gilliland (Tracy Travis) of Chester; daughter, Carolyn Hoyt (Rick McHenry) of East Liverpool; grandchildren, Seth Hoyt (Stephanie), Samuel Hoyt (Sarah), Logan Hoyt (Natalie), Ian Travis, and Ethan Travis and Kristopher McIntosh; great-grandchildren, Talon, Griffin, Lucy, Mikaylin, Samuel and Greyson Hoyt, and Hunter Collins; brothers, Robert Heffner and Paul Heffner of East Liverpool and sisters, Linda Wilkes (John) of East Liverpool and Dona Jackson.
Mary was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kaytlyn Gilliland, and brothers, James, George “Snook”, Chuck, Joseph, and Everett “Sonny” Heffner.
Pastor Dirk Hall will celebrate Mary’s life, Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Arner Funeral Chapel, at 6:00 PM. Friends may visit with her family for a memorial visitation, 2 hours prior to the service from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM. Private inurnment will be held at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell.
