Mary E. Smith, 93 of East Liverpool passed away peacefully at the Calcutta Health Care Center on Monday, April 27, 2020, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Midland Pennsylvania on December 18, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Morgan and Lillian Noble Carland. She married Allan R. Smith on October 10, 1951.
Mary worked for 30 years as a secretary for the East Liverpool City School District. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish in East Liverpool and she graduated from Midland High School.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allan R. Smith, her brother, John F. Carland, and her sister, Alice Green.
Mary leaves two sons, Mark (Tamera) Smith of Chester, and Kurt Smith of East Liverpool. Three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild survive as well. There are also several nieces and nephews and their families who she was very fond of.
In fulfilling Mary’s wishes, no services are planned. The Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester is assisting the family with these arrangements.
