Lorin “Larry” Murray

Lorin R. “Larry” Murray, 82 of Chester passed at his home on Wednesday, November 15, 2023.

Larry was born in East Liverpool on November 8, 1941, to the late Paul E. and Kathryn Huffman Murray.

A second-generation Iron Worker, Larry retired from Iron Workers Local #3 in Pittsburgh after 32 years. He was a 1960 graduate of Chester High School and a fifty-year member of the Chester American Legion Post #121. Larry was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps, serving as a Corporal from 1960 to 1964.

In addition to his parents, two infant sons, Lorin Jr. and Dean, and his constant companion, his k-9 Tucker preceded him in death.

Left to mourn his loss is his loving wife, Kathlyn “Kathy” Moore Murray, his daughter, Dee (Ron) Markowitz of Nile, OH, and his brother, Sonny Murray of Chester. Also surviving are two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and three nephews.

Respecting Larry’s wishes, no services are planned, and a private burial will take place at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell. The Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester is assisting his family with these arrangements.
