Lonnie L. Whittington, 71 of East Liverpool passed at the Cleveland Clinic on Sunday, April 18, 2021, after recently being diagnosed with cancer.
A son of the late Vernon C. and Jean Grandstaff Whittington, he was born in East Liverpool on June 12, 1949.
Lonnie retired as a machinist from Patterson Industries in East Liverpool and earlier worked at Timet in Toronto. More recently he delivered flowers for Flowerland Florist in Chester. A lifetime member of the NRA, Lonnie graduated from Oak Glen High School in 1968, and he served his country as an Infantryman with the US Army in Vietnam.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Joe, Larry, and Chris Whittington, and his sister, Cynthia Chaff.
Lonnie leaves his daughter, Lori Rawson and her husband Jimmy of Wellsville, his sister, Debbie Graham, and her husband Sayer of East Liverpool, and three grandchildren.
In fulfilling Lonnie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service is being planned for a future date. His services are in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester.
