Katherine L. Grimes

East Liverpool, 
Katherine L. Grimes, 89, of Chester, passed away, Thursday, February 27, 2020, at Calcutta Health Care. 

Born, May 29, 1930, in Lawrenceville, she was a daughter of the late Fred McGaffic and Pearl Mellott Weese.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Grimes; sons, Jack and John Wesley Grimes and daughter, Julie Hawkingberry. She was also preceded in death by 9 siblings. 

Katherine attended Chester High School and worked at TS&T Pottery until it’s closure. She worked for many years for Riverview Florist and Homer Laughlin China Company. 

She will be missed by her children, Genesta Dimaggio and her husband Mark of Rochester, Shelly Moffet and her husband Curt of East Liverpool, Shawnee Young and her husband Ed of Arkansas, Sherrie Faulkner of East Liverpool and Sue Polliey and her husband Rich of Summit, NC.; sisters, Ann Bailey of East Liverpool and Ruth Delauder of Calcutta. She will also be missed by her 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Private services will be held for the family, Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at 1:00 PM, at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Family may visit 11-1:00 PM.
