K. Wayne “Fuzz” Males, 73 of a lifelong resident of Chester passed away at Valley Oaks Care Center in East Liverpool on Monday, February 10, 2020, following a lengthy illness.
Born December 30, 1946, in East Liverpool, he was a son of the late William S. and Pearl W. Jackson Males.
After 15 years, Fuzz retired as a truck driver for Airco Gases in Newell. He was a past Chief and Captain of the Lawrenceville Volunteer Fire Department, before retiring after 30 plus years of service. A Christian by faith, he was a 1964 graduate of Oak Glen High School, and he was a veteran of the US Air Force.
Along with his parents, Fuzz was preceded in death one brother, George William Males; and his longtime K-9 companion, Texaco.
He leaves his siblings, Alma Jean (Ronnie) Smithers of Louisville, KY., Kathryn Kirk of East Palestine, Larry Males of Calcutta, Cindy Collins of Wellsville, and Charles Males of Wellsville. Also, surviving is his niece Amanda Males of Wellsville; one nephew, Douglas Males of Butler, PA., and one great-niece, Ciara Males of Wellsville.
Pastor Tim Bess will celebrate Fuzz’s life at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Friday, February 14 at 7:30 p.m. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:30. Private interment will be held at the Locust Hill Cemetery.
