John M. Rose, 90, passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Alzheimer Center, Columbiana, Ohio.
He was a Christian by faith. Born in East Liverpool, OH. He was the son of the late Charles Reed Rose and Pearl Williams. He married June Mae West, the love of his life, on September 21, 1953. They were married for 69 years.
After graduating high school, John served in the US Army Artillery Battalion taking him to Germany. Upon his return, he worked at TS&T, then retired at Quaker State Oil Refinery.
Along with raising his children with his wife, John was an avid Native American artifacts explorer. If you were looking for him on a weekend, he could be found traveling up and down the Ohio River in his canoe or on foot. This passion was shared with his children and grandchildren. The stories that followed were always treasured.
He later joined, The Aboriginal Explores Club. A group of dedicated individuals who have contributed significantly to the archaeological knowledge of the Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia tri-state area. This all led to the publication of the Archaeological Society of the Ohio Club.
John (AKA) PA had an eternal love for his family. Children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren would share in this love by spending individual time with him in the yard and making memories that will last a lifetime and stories that will last forever.
He was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Amy, and sister Pauline Summers.
John’s memory will be left to cherish by his wife, June Mae Rose of Chester; Beth L. Bradich of New Cumberland; grandchildren, Angel (John) Hayes, Seth, and Kenzie of New Cumberland, Jamie (Chris) Moore, Sara, Dakota, Makenzie and Caiden all of Weirton, Tanika ( Steve) O’Brien of Santa Rosa Beach, FL., Tara (Jeff) Raveaux of Landon Rosenberg, TX., Tatum (Alex) Stowers, Kassea and Kenley all of East Liverpool.
John’s arrangements were entrusted with the Arner Funeral Chapel.
