John Price Obituary

Steubenville, OH.

John E. Price of Wellsville, passed away, Monday, November 11, 2019, at Trinity West Hospital in Steubenville after complications from a recent surgery. He had been raised in Chester.

The youngest of seven children, he was a son of the late Carl W. and Velma Gamble Price, and he was born in East Liverpool on August 24, 1954.

John was a 1973 graduate of Oak Glen High School, and he retired as a supervisor from National Church Supply in Chester where he worked for 34 years.  Also, he was a member of the Chester First Christian Church. A great brother and friend, John had an undeniable sense of humor that kept his family constantly entertained. An excellent hunter and fisherman, John would often forgo the hunt so that he could guide his family and friends to the prized game so that they could enjoy of the thrill of bagging a trophy buck. That’s the kind of person he was! Obviously, family meant a great deal to John, and in his retirement, he was enthralled in helping raise his two grandchildren, Corbin and Clayton Stillwell.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gretchen Price on January 10, 2010, and one brother, Harvey Price.

He is survived by his daughter, Summer Stillwell of Toronto; his companion, Brenda Vause of Chester; his brothers, Dave Price and his wife Tonya of Fairmont, Rick Price and his wife Cheche of Beech Bottom, WV., Calvin Price and his wife Lindy of Gibsonia, PA., and Jerry Price of New Manchester; and his sister, Shelby Charles and her husband David of Philadelphia, PA., as well as his two grandsons.
