John A. Murphy, 46, of Chester, passed unexpectedly, Thursday, November 2, 2023, at East Liverpool City Hospital.
Born, September 18, 1977, in East Liverpool, he was a son of Kathleen Irons Thompson of East Liverpool and the late Rex A. Murphy.
John was a graduate of Oak Glen High School Class of 1997. He was formerly employed at Homer Laughlin China Company.
He had a great sense of humor and brought those close to him endless laughter. John was a fly fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors. The greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. John loved sports and coached Little Bear’s basketball with his wife.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Ashlee Craig Murphy, whom he married on June 27, 2014; children, Jay Kinzie, Clayton, Zachary, and Natalee Murphy; brother, Rex A. Murphy Jr. and his wife, Mamie; sister, Roxanne White; maternal grandmother, Veronica A. Fabyanic; granddaughter, Amelia Kinzie and niece, Jasmine White. He will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, great nieces, and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Lois Phillips Murphy and maternal grandfather, Alan “Nip” Irons.
Pastor Phil Rigden will celebrate John’s life, Monday, November 6, 2023, at Arner Funeral Chapel at 11:00AM. Friends may visit with his family at the funeral home on Sunday, from 12-2:00PM and 4-6:00PM.
