John W. Brown

John W. Brown of Ohio Ave. in East Liverpool and formerly of Newell passed away at the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville on Monday, August 12, 2019, following a lengthy illness.

A son of Charles and Mae E. Shenton Brown, he was born in Wellsville on August 7, 1949.

John retired as a slot attendant at Mountaineer Racetrack and Casino and earlier had worked 27 years at the Calcutta K-Mart. He was a graduate of the former Stanton Local High School.

Surviving are his companion of several years, Linda Flowers of East Liverpool; his daughter, Lisa Cassidy of Wellsville; one grandson, and two great-grandsons.

In fulfilling John’s wishes, no services are planned, and he is in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester.
