John Bielskis Obituary

John Vincent Bielskis, 54, passed, Monday, April 5, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, following a brief illness.

Born, December 4, 1966, in Ontario, Canada, he was a son of the late Leonas and Berte Shurne Bielskis. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Kathy, and Rosemary.

John was formerly employed at Eljers Plumbing until its closure and Whemco, Flabeg and Youngstown Hard Chrome.

An avid fan of numerous sports, and an athlete in his youth, John won many accolades for his accomplishments in the baseball diamond. The Pittsburgh Penguins and New England Patriots were among his favorite teams to cheer on, though he appreciated the spirit of the games regardless of who played. A master of humor with ingenious wit, jokes passed his lips constantly, and he maintained a sense of humor towards the world at large his entire life.

As an intellectual, John spent much of his free time absorbing as much information as possible, reading and experiencing all he could. A lover of music of all sorts, a collector of many odd and interesting things, a proud immigrant that realized his dream to live in the United States, John lived an amazing life.

He will be missed by his son, Alexander Bielskis and his companion Nicole McCune of East Liverpool, the mother of his child, Jennifer Klein of East Liverpool; brother, Leo Bielskis and his companion JoAnne McCollin of Oakville, Ontario Canada; sisters, Barbara Bielskis and her companion Ivan Bujold of Bolton, Ontario Canada and Janine Bielskis of Toronto Canada, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends across the globe.

A graveside service will be held Friday, April 9, 2021, at Riverview Cemetery at 1:00PM. John is in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Arner Funeral Chapel to help defray the cost of the funeral.
