Joe Reed Obituary

Joe A. Reed, 54, of New Cumberland, passed suddenly from a heart attack, Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at his home.

Born, July 31, 1967, in East Liverpool, he is a son of the late, Delmar and Shirley Murphy Reed.

He was also preceded in death by his baby sister, JoAnn Reed, and by his brother, Delmar “Earl” Reed.

Joe was a graduate of Oak Glen High School Class of 1986. He currently was employed by Steel Metal Servicing in Mingo Junction.

Joe was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed coon hunting and fishing. He had a passion for woodworking his most recent endeavor was making solar lights. He was one of the hardest working men you could ever meet because the number one thing to him was providing for his family. In his spare time, you could find him watching Pro Wrestling.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Rebecca Elkins; son, Teddy Adkins of Weirton; daughter, Melissa Reed of New Cumberland; grandson, Luke Reed-Brookes of New Cumberland; brothers, Clyde “Will” Reed of Salineville, Walter “Bub” Reed of East Liverpool, and John “Mike” Reed of East Liverpool; sisters, Della Jean “DJ” Mahaffey of New Manchester, Florence “Sue” Rollyson of New Cumberland and Ruth Mayes of New Cumberland.

Pastor Rexall “Rick” Cooper will celebrate Joe’s life, Monday, November 1, 2021, at the Arner Funeral Chapel, at 2:00 PM. Friends may visit with his family, 2 hours prior to the service from Noon to -2:00PM. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery.
