1953 - 2023

James “Jim” Loy, 69, of Calcutta, passed away September 2, 2023, at UPMC-Shadyside hospital, surrounded by the love of his family.

Jim was born December 13, 1953, in East Liverpool OH, the son of the late Delbert and Sarah (Roe) Loy.

His sister Deanna (Robert ) Powers and his brother Edward Loy preceded him in death.

His loving family survives Jim; his wife of 31 years Debra (Hull) Loy of Calcutta; a daughter Jodi Adkins (Nathan Stark) of East Liverpool; a son, Brent (Heather) Loy of East Liverpool; a step-son Steven (Melanie) Hale of Olathe, KS; six grandchildren Nathan, Bailey, Wyatt, Abigail, Kenley and Evie; two brothers William (Carol) Loy and Thomas Loy, both of East Liverpool. Jim also has many cousins nieces and nephews that he held dear to hy cousins, nieces and nephews that he held dear to his heart.

Jim graduated from Beaver Local High School in 1974 and retired from Comcast Cable as the regional director of operations.

Jim’s passion was for his family. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids laughing, attending their events, lifting weights, and making memories. He cherished his friendships and made new friends everywhere he went. He will sadly be missed by all.

A Celebration of Life will be led by Pastor Greg Mead on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at

11:00 a.m. at the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 300 W. 6th Street, East Liverpool, OH.

Arner Funeral Chapels was entrusted with Jim's care.
