Frank E. Carter Sr., 90 of Wellsville, passed on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a brief illness.
He was the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth Trust Carter, and he was born in East Liverpool on January 27, 1933.
Frank worked at the H K Porter Brickyard in Irondale for several years, and he retired from Quaker State Oil Refinery in Newell. He honorably served his country as a member of the US Army, serving in Korea during the Korean Conflict. Frank was a graduate of Wellsville High School. He loved football, and he coached for ten years with the Wellsville Junior Tigers while his sons were team members.
Along with his parents, thirteen brothers and sisters also preceded him in death.
Frank leaves his loving family, his wife, Shirley Brown Carter at home, his sons, Frank (Barbara) Carter Jr. of Columbus, OH, and Lance (Kimberly) Carter of Houston, TX, his grandchildren, Amber Reed, and Christopher, Austin, and Cheyanne Carter. In addition, there are nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In fulfilling Frank’s wishes, no services are planned, however, his family is planning a celebration of life for a day and time to be announced later. He is in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Frank’s name to the Buckeye Hospice or a youth football program of your choice.
