Errett A. Allison, 90 of Chester passed peacefully at the East Liverpool City Hospital on Saturday, July 10, 2021.

Born on the family farm near Chester on November 7, 1930, he was the son of the late Donald and Ethel Yonally Allison.

Errett began his career with the Hancock County School System as a school bus driver before transitioning to the maintenance department, where he specialized in boiler, heating, and air conditioning repair. He was a faithful member of the Emmanuel Mission Church near Chester where he served as the worship leader. Errett had a reputation for always helping others in need. He was well known for bringing along his home-baked pies. He was proud of the fact that he was the winner of the Hancock County Fair Blue Ribbon Pie award 8 years running. Errett was a member of the Hollow Rock Camp meeting board of directors; a member and past president of both the Hancock County and West Virginia Service Associations; a member of the Hancock County Farm Bureau; and a member and current president of the Locust Hill Cemetery Association board of directors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Allison, their daughter, Renee Allison Booth, and his siblings: Helen Johnson, Marie Elliott, Margaret Kissoon and Robert, Deane and Ray Allison.

His loving family includes his daughters, Diane (George) Eskra of New Richmond, OH., and Paula Jolley of Walton, KY., his grandchildren, Allison, Lori, Karen, Sarah, Amanda, and Adam, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.  His surviving brothers are Elbert (Darlene) Allison of Chester, and Myron (Chris) Allison of Stow, OH. Several nieces and nephews, and long-time friend, Flossie Bland survive as well.

Errett’s nephew, Pastor Roy Allison will celebrate his life at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Wednesday, July 14 at 11:00 a.m. Following the services, he will be laid to rest alongside his wife Emily at the Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with his family at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
