Ellen L. Shaw

Ellen L. Shaw, 85, of East Liverpool, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, July 9, 2020, at her home. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and devoted her life to her family.

Born, September 20, 1934, in East Liverpool, she was a daughter of the late John G. Barrett and Mary A. Birtcher Barrett.

Ellen was preceded in death by her husband Ralph V. Shaw, sisters, Betty Pelley, Naomi Dye, Mary Alice Lewis, Alma Rose Fields, and by her brothers, Robert W., and John Barrett.

She was a graduate of East Liverpool High School and for many years she worked as a waitress at Muggins Restaurant in Wellsville.

Ellen was a family-oriented person who greatly enjoyed family gatherings and took pride in being there for her family. She also enjoyed “sips” of cold beer from anyone walking past her.

She will be deeply missed by her sons, Ralph Shaw and his wife Sandy, Mike Shaw and his wife Cheri and Paul Shaw and his wife Jodi, all of East Liverpool; daughter, Debbie Duncan and her husband Frank of East Liverpool; sisters, Ada Perkins of  Columbiana; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

We will celebrate Ellen’s life Monday, July 13, 2020, at the Arner Funeral Chapel, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit with  Ellen’s family, Sunday, July 12, 2020, from 1:00 PM-6:00 PM. As mandated by the WV. Governor, masks, and social distancing is required.
