Edward Byland Obituary

Edward A. Byland, 86, of Chester, passed suddenly at his home, Friday, June 11, 2021, following a brief illness.

Born, February 23, 1935, in East Liverpool, he was a son of the late James Irwin (Glennis) Byland and Ruth Porter. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Audrey Mumaw Byland, his daughter, Paula Heffner; sisters, Pauline Beaver, Linda Buccheit, and brothers, Richard, and James Byland.

Ed was a graduate of East Liverpool High School, and he was a proud United States Air Force Veteran, serving in Germany. He was married to the love of his life for 55 years, Audrey Mumaw Byland. Ed told everyone that Audrey married him and gave him all her love, but her children gave him a family.

He retired from AT&T after many years of service because he was going to be a proud grandpa and he wanted to spend more time with Katie.

He was a member of Faith Community Church; he was also a member of the American Legion Post #121 and VFW Post #6450 in Chester. You could count on Ed to be at the VFW every morning enjoying a cup of coffee and then he would head out for his morning walk through Chester. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and he was the one person that you could always depend on. You never had to ask Ed to do something he just did it and was honored to have done it.

Ed will be missed by his children, Bill Wright, and his wife Joyce and Brent Heffner and his wife Jodi all of Chester; grandson, Todd Wright; granddaughter, Katie Heffner; sister, Barbara James, and family;  step-grandchildren, Gina Andrews (Jeff), Scott Stevens (Judy), Jodi Stevens, and Ryan Stevens (Heather);  step-great-grandchildren, Tyler, MiKayla, Madison, Brandon, Alisha, Brant, Nichelle, Halee, Trey, Teira and Tava; nieces and nephews, Dave and Laura Byland, Debbie and Michael Papenfuse, Terri and Rashid Ljamal, Ruthie Horner, Jimmy Byland, Catherine Byland, Jimmy Byland Jr., and Julie Buchheit Hirchliffe; brother-in-law Albert Lyons(Sandy) of Newark, Ohio, and a daughter by love, Charlene McMillan.
