Dwain Reed Obituary

Dwain K. Reed, 65 of New Cumberland passed at his home on Thursday, November 4, 2021.

A son of the late Jeremiah B. and Leona “Theresa” Mercer Reed, he was born in East Liverpool on August 1, 1956.

Dwain was raised in the Hookstown area and was a long-time resident of New Cumberland. His life’s work was as a heavy equipment operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers #66 out of Pittsburgh. Dwain served his country with the US Army, and he was a member of the New Cumberland VFW, and Hookstown American Legion. Most important to him was time spent with family, especially the family camping trips.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Reed, and sister, Shirley Maddox.

Most devastated by his loss are his wife, Rosemary Wilfong Reed, his children, Melanie Dunlevy and her husband Markas, Kristina Jenkins of New Cumberland, and his special grandchildren, twins, Madelyn and McKenzie Dunlevy, Jase Jenkins and Kaylene Jenkins. Also, he is survived by several brothers, and sisters, William (Carolyn) Reed of Indiana, Charlie Reed of Willmington, DE., Edward (Carolyn) Reed of Texas, Jimmy (Angie) Reed of South Carolina, Delores (Tom) Armour of New Brighton, PA., Beverly (Clay) Brodmerkel of Georgetown, and Tammy of South Carolina, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Dwain’s wishes were that no services be held, and his family is honoring his wishes. He is in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester.
