Donald “Keith” Edgell, 72, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, of New Cumberland, passed, Friday, January 8, 2021, surrounded by his loving family, at Acuity Specialty Hospital, following a brief illness.
Born, November 14, 1948, in Doddridge County, WV., he was a son of the late Donald G. and Bertha Mae Swiger Edgell.
Keith was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Mossie Hanselman and brother-in-law, Tim Hanselman.
Keith was a graduate of Oak Glen High School. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from Weirton Steel Company, where he worked in the Electric Shop. After retirement, he continued working at Mountaineer Racetrack and Casino in Security.
Keith was a member of the American Legion Post #121 and the National Rifle Association.
He was family oriented and he cherished his grandchildren. Keith loved spending time down state and with his cousins that he loved immensely. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.
He will be missed by his loving wife, Helen Hanselman Edgell, whom he married May 30, 1974; daughters, Amanda Anderson and her husband Brad of Chester and Justina Petit and her husband John of Norton, OH.; brothers, Wes Edgell (Irene) of New Manchester, Rodger Edgell (Bev) of Salsberry, NC.; sisters, Beverly Lowman (Chris) of Salsberry, NC., Kelly Miri and her husband Reza of Pennsboro, WV. and Debbie Underwood (Rodney) of Salem, WV.; father-in-law Frank Hanselman. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Carter and Addisyn Anderson, Keith, Maci and Brody Petit; nephews, Kevin and Matt Williams; Aunts, Rita and Hollie, who he thought of as a second mother.
Visitation will be held Monday, at the Arner Funeral Chapel, 2:00PM-4:00PM. Mask are required. Interment will be held at New Cumberland Cemetery on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at 11:00am.
