David E. Fetty Jr. formerly of New Cumberland and currently of Mingo Junction died in his sleep due to ongoing health conditions that had plagued him for several years. He passed peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 4, 2020.
52 years old, David was born on January 17, 1967, in East Liverpool, OH. He was a son of Patricia Ann Davidson of Butler, PA., and the late David E. Fetty Sr.
An avid fisherman and camper, David found great spirituality in his love of nature and animals. He spent countless hours in the outdoors, time that gave him an overwhelming sense of peace. David was an enthusiastic participant in the Highland Games, events that are held in spring and summer to celebrate Scottish and Celtic culture. David last worked as a greenkeeper at the High Bridge Hills Golf Club in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Earlier, he was a compounder and head of shipping at Aroma Tech, also in New Jersey. He was raised in New Cumberland, WV., and was a 1985 graduate of Oak Glen High School.
In addition to his father, David was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frank and Esther Haught Fetty, and his maternal grandparents, Tom and Elsie Coleman Davidson.
Along with his mother, he is survived by his sister, Amanda Szurek and her husband, Michael of Butler, PA; his nephew and niece, Nathan and Mara Szurek; and his stepmother, Brenda Fetty of Steubenville. He will also be missed by his longtime friend and fishing buddy, Robert Miller.
Family and friends will celebrate David’s life at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Tuesday, January 7, at 6:00 p.m. His family, will be present to receive friends at the funeral home 2 hours prior to the service, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
