Chloe "Anne" Jester

Chloe “Anne” Jester, 86, of Chester, received her angel wings, Saturday, April 25, 2020, at the Stone Pear Pavilion in Chester.

Born, April 2, 1934, in Foster, WV., she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Roma Williams Cabell.

She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Geraldine Abshire and Audra Leonian.

Anne was a graduate of Scott High School in Foster, WV., where she was the head majorette and active in 4H. She continued her education at WVU., earning her degrees in Physical Education, Home Economics, and Biology.

Anne began her teaching career at Wells High School, moving to Oak Glen in about 1962. She taught Biology, Advanced Biology, Anatomy and Physiology. With sensitivity and caring, Anne brought out the best in her students, believing that success in learning carried over into other areas of their lives.  A firm but compassionate teacher, Anne received numerous academic awards, including Teacher of the Year and Mother of the Year. Anne retired in 1986 and continued to substitute teach and an additional 10 years. She owned and operated Antiques and Collectables on Carolina ave for many years. 

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Chester. She was involved in Fish and found great joy in helping people. Anne was someone you could always depend on.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 64 years, David Jester; daughters, Kathleen Thomas and Sharon Hays of Winter Garden, FL.; brother, Lawrence Cabell of Charlottesville, VA.; grandchildren, LTJG Sabrina White currently stationed in Norfolk Virginia and Jessica Hays of Orlando, FL. She will also be missed by her great-grandchildren, Taylor Pulley and Ember Hays.

In compliance with West Virginia State regulations with concerns of the COVID-19 virus a private family service will be held at the Arner Funeral Chapel.
