Charles S. Russell, 89, of East Liverpool, passed, on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at East Liverpool City Hospital.
Born, November 7, 1933, in Irondale, he was the son of the late, Matthew and Margaret Sayre Russell.
Charlie was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Moyer Russell; two sons, Charles Jr. and Jeffrey Russell; brother, Richard Russell and sister, Nelda Russell.
He was a graduate of Southern Local High School and Ohio Valley Business College. Charlie worked at Crucible Steel until its closure. He was most known as a dedicated bus driver for Beaver Local School District for over 20 years. He later retired from OS Hill.
Charlie was loved for his many admirable qualities. First and foremost, he had a huge heart and a big smile. Whether you were family, a friend, a co-worker, or a stranger, you could always count on Charlie to fix the problem. He had a strong work ethic and was accountable for it. He had an abundance of patience and was approachable, selfless, and simply put, a genuinely kind person. Charlie was a member of the VFW Post #66 in East Liverpool.
He will be missed by his daughter, Debra Garren, and her husband, Bill of Franklin, NC.; son, Mark Russell of East Liverpool; grandchildren, Scott Siderich (Stephanie), Aaron Russell (Ashley), Loni Jo and William Garren, Rochelle Russell, Krista Ford (Geoff), Ethan Russell (Kali), Kevin Garren (Lauren) and Kory Garren; 18 great-grandchildren.
Per Charlie’s wishes, no services are planned at this time. He is in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel.
