Charles Lee Pugh of Chester Passed at his home where he was born and raised on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. He was eighty-seven.

The son of the late Earl and Marie Allison Pugh, Charles Lee was born on the family farm on April 18, 1934.

His life’s work was the Greener Hills Farm near Chester. He was the third generation to operate the farm which won several awards from 1953 to 1973. Also, he served as a bus driver for the Hancock County School System, and later became the Director of Transportation. A member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, he was a graduate of the former Chester High School class of 1952. Charles Lee was a 47-year member of the Northern Panhandle Soil and Conservation District, a 24-year member of the Grant Public Service District, a member of the Hancock County Farm Bureau, a member of the Hancock County Fair Board, a member of the Board of Directors of the Locust Hill Cemetery Association, a member of the Hancock County Solid Waste Authority, and the Hancock County representative to the Wheeling Creek Water Shed.

In addition to his parents, Charles Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Pugh, and his sister Dorothy Swearingen, and her husband Jim.

He leaves his son, Kenny, and daughter Natalie, stepchildren, Terri, Sherri, Holly, and Cassandra, and several grand and great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Sunday, December 26, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
