Charles J. Crawford

Charles J. Crawford, 76, of Chester, passed, Monday, May 24, 2021, at East Liverpool City Hospital, following a brief illness.

Born, May 31, 1944, in Chester, he was a son of the late Homer and Laura Ulbright Crawford.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Fister Crawford, and by his sister, Joan Crawford.

Charles was an avid horseman, working many years as a blacksmith at Mountaineer Racetrack and Casino. He enjoyed hunting and he cherished his grandchildren. Charles would have done anything for anyone and was so proud of his home in West Virginia.

He will be deeply missed by his sons, Jeffrey Crawford, and his wife, Sheila of Macedonia, OH., Joseph Crawford of Lakewood, CO., Fred Thorne of East Liverpool; daughters, Angela Puleo of Atwater, OH. and Annette Toney and her husband Michael of Eastlake, OH.; siblings, Nancy McIntosh of Chester, Alma Smith Crawford of Chester, Tippy Crawford of New Cumberland, Marvin Crawford of FL., Joseph Crawford of New Manchester, Sally Buzzard of Chester, and Yvonne Fish of New Cumberland. He will also be missed by his 12 grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Per Charles wishes, no services are planned at this time. He is in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel.
