Bruce A. Conkle, 61, lifelong resident of Georgetown, PA, passed Monday, June 13, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospice Heritage Valley Beaver, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born, September 26, 1960, in East Liverpool, he was the son of the late Roy H. and Dolores M. Hoskins Conkle.
Bruce was a graduate of South Side High School Class of 1978. He formerly worked at Riverview Cemetery as a groundskeeper. Bruce recently retired from South Side Garage where he was a bus driver for South Side Schools for many years. He also recently worked at the Greene Township dumpster.
He was a proud farmer his entire life, owning and working the land that has been in his family for the past 100 years. He was a quiet, humble, kind, funny, hard-hard working man. Following his father's death in 2019, he cared for his mother until his health no longer allowed him to.
He will be missed by his sisters, Amy Thomas and her husband Jerome of Georgetown, Diana Gourley of Weirton and Beverly Fenner and her husband Seth of Leesburg, FL; brother in-law, Dan Gourley of Moon Township. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews, Alaina (Travis) Reiser, Justin (Stephanie) Gourley, Brandon (Kelly) Gourley, Lindsy (Gage) Thomas, Rachel (Austin) Cox, Natalie Thomas. He leaves 3 great-nieces; Charlotte, Lauren, and Parker; and 2 great-nephews; Zachary and Sammy.
A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held at a later date on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 1:30PM, at Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Friends may visit with his family from Noon-1:30PM.
