Betty J. Ankrom

Betty J, Ankrom, 78, of Calcutta, passed away, Monday, July 1, 2019, following a brief illness, at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born, September 27, 1940, in Holiday Cove, WV., she was a daughter of the late William and Caroline Kosut Heupp.

Betty was a graduate of Weirton Madonna High School. She was formerly employed at C & P Telephone Company in Weirton.

She was a member of Glenmoor United Presbyterian Church.

Betty will be deeply missed by her husband of 56 years, Gene Ankrom; son, Scott Ankrom and his fiancé Laverne Owens of Owings Mill, MD.; daughters, Dee Campbell and her husband Wade of Weirton, WV. and Dawn Burgess and her husband Bill of Rootstown, OH.; sister, Rose Sprowl and her husband Terry of Toronto, OH. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Kaleb and Kyle Campbell and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Heupp and by her grandson, Brent Rees Ankrom.

Pastor Vel Vias will celebrate Betty’s life on Friday, July 5, 2019, at 5:00 PM., at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Friends may visit with the family 2 hours prior to the service from 3:00-5:00 PM.
