Arlene L. Cool, 93, of New Manchester, passed suddenly, August 21, 2020, at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born February 7, 1927, in Hundred, WV., she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Verna Rush Merriner.
Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, John Cool; daughter’s, Dixie Wood and Nelda Koontz; son, Mark Cool; sister, Nelda Merriner; brother, Kent Merriner, and son-in-law Tom Wood.
She was a member of the New Manchester Christian Church and she was a Gold Star Mother.
Arlene believed life was meant to be lived and was always up for a little adventure. A devoted mother, proud grandmother, and loving friend, she will always be remembered as the true heart of her family who kept everyone centered.
She will be deeply missed by her sons, Scott Cool of New Cumberland, Stephen Cool and his wife Sandra of New Cumberland and John Cool and his wife Sara of New Martinsville; special granddaughter that was raised like her own, Michelle Bever and her husband Bill and son-in-law, Edward Koontz. She will also be missed by her 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Pastor Tim Gola will celebrate Arlene’s life, Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Follansbee. Friends may visit with Arlene’s family, Monday, August 24, 2020, from 2:00 PM-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
