Anna Gallo Obituary

The beautiful and always gracious Anna Louise Gallo, 90, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2019, surrounded by loved ones. Born Anna Louise Casto on May 23, 1929, she grew up in Chester, West Virginia, during the height of The Great Depression with her dear brother Charles, her loving mother Anna B. Walker, and caring stepfather Roy R. Walker (all have since preceded her in death). After graduating from Chester High School in 1946, Anna Louise went on to have four children: Mitchell, Scotty, Louie, and Rowanne.

In 1959, Anna Louise moved to Youngstown, Ohio, to work as a hostess at Cicero’s Supper Club. There, she met her husband Patsy. In 1962, the family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where they owned and operated Gallo’s Family Restaurant. After the unfortunate and untimely passing of her husband Patsy in 1969, she moved back to Chester with her four children to be closer to her mother. She spent the next decade as a hostess at Waterford Park (now Mountaineer Racetrack), working hard to support her family. After her children grew into adults, she moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she worked as an apartment manager for over two decades, before moving back to Chester to live out the rest of her days with family and friends.

Anna Louise will always be remembered for her infectious laughter, sweetness, faithfulness, love of family, and generosity. She had the ability to brighten anyone’s day and she was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Despite the hardships that she faced throughout her life, she always maintained her faith and positivity. She was a shining example of what it means to have gratitude for life and family.

She is survived by her son Mitchell; son Louie; daughter Rowanne (Michael Tipple); grandchildren Vanessa, Jessica (Josh O'Rourke), Louie, and Nick; great-grandchildren Rylie, Meadow, Adalynn, and Lilly; niece Dana (Thomas Picciarelli) nephew Charles (Bev Shepard); great-nieces Toni and Jessica; great-nephews Dan, Jerry, and Matt; Sister in Law Delores (Charles Casto); Four Great Great nieces and nephews; Kim Hutchins and family
