Alvin J. Coil, 84, lifetime resident of East Liverpool, passed, Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born, November 15, 1936, in Hammondsville, OH., he was a son of the late Walter and Mary VanDyke Coil. Alvin was also reunited with his son, Henry Joseph Coil, and with his twin brother, Arvin Coil; brothers, Walter Coil Jr., Gordon, and Robert Coil; sister, Meryl Coil, and Jean Rowley. He was also preceded in death by his dog that he adored, Poochie.
Alvin was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving with his twin brother, Arvin.
He adored his wife, children, and grandchildren and he cherished the time that he was able to spend with his family. Alvin was a very social and outgoing person who made friends and connections over the course of his life. He was strong-willed, full of life, never met a stranger and always the life of the party. Alvin was a member of the Potters Club in East Liverpool, where he enjoyed listening to music and dancing the night away.
He will be missed by his loving wife of 62 years, Barbara Davis Coil; daughter, Tara Perfetto and her husband Seth of Highlandtown, OH. and Lisa Birch of Panama City Beach, FL.; son, Gary Coil (Michelle) of Panama City Beach; grandchildren, Gary Coil Jr., who was like a son to Alvin, Taryn Valentin (Robert), Trenton Eastham, Blair, Stacy and Bryce Birch, Erica, Joe, Josh, and Jessica Coil; 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Barbara Board and her husband Harlan, Edna Neiser and her husband Jim and Jane Whyte and sister-in-law, Patty Coil.
Alvin’s grandson-in-law Robert Valentin will officiate his service, Monday, June 14, 2021, at 5:00 PM, at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Friends may visit with his family, 2 hours prior to the service from 3:00 PM-5:00 PM.
