Alan W. "Butch" Snyder

Alan W. “Butch” Snyder of Chester, passed on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at the Beaver Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania after a lengthy illness.

75 years old and a lifetime resident of Chester, Butch was born in East Liverpool on April 10, 1946. He was the son of the late Marvin D. and Rowena wine Snyder.

He retired as a machinist from the Bellofram Corporation, and he was a member of the Chester First Presbyterian Church. A 1964 graduate of Oak Glen High School, Butch was a member and past treasurer of the Chester Lions Club for many years. Also, he served his country honorably as a military policeman in Vietnam with the US Army.

Surviving is his sister, Nancy Jefferies of Canton, and his special nephew, Eric Kester, and his wife Vicki of New Cumberland.

Family and friends will celebrate Butch’s life at the Arner Funeral Chapel on Saturday, September 11, at 12:00 p.m. Friends are invited to visit with the family during a memorial visitation one hour prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Private interment will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Butch’s name to the Chester Lions Club @ P.O. Box 219, Chester, WV.  26034.
