William J. Chaney Sr., lifelong Chester resident, passed away at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh on Thursday, May 24, 2018, after a six-month illness.
57 years old, Bill was born in East Liverpool on June 25, 1959, to the late Roy and Jean Davis Chaney.
For twenty-seven years, he was a knowledgeable sales associate at Werkheiser’s Hardware in Chester. Bill was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a 1978 graduate of Oak Glen High School. He was an avid Steelers fan and wood carver.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Chaney, and his nephew, Eric Cunningham.
Bill is survived by his wife, Brenda Speece Chaney who he married on September 22, 1982, his son, BJ Chaney of Chester; his daughter, Jennifer Frank and her fiancée, Jason Beckwith of Wellsville; his brothers, Jim Chaney of East Liverpool, and Richie Chaney of Jacksonville, FL., his sisters, Connie Cunningham and her husband Rick of Newell, Kristie Leeport and her husband Bill of Chester, Janice Roach and her husband Jeff of Chester, and Pam Barkley and her husband Terry of Columbus, OH; and two grandchildren, Hannah and Cooper Frank.
Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Saturday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
