Virginia F. (Thomas) Haddox

Virginia F. Haddox, 77, of Wellsville, passed away, Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at her home, following a lengthy illness.

Born, June 20, 1942, in Hammondsville, she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Dorothy Tice Thomas.

Virginia retired from Calcutta Health Care, where she worked as an STNA. She was devoted to her family, she enjoyed cooking and taking care of her loved ones all of her life along with being the best wife anyone could ask for. Virginia had a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as there was nothing that made her smile bigger than being with them.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 62 years, Melvin Haddox I; son, Doug Haddox and his finance Penny Traina of Calcutta; daughter, Tammy Welch and her husband Larry of Wellsville; grandchildren, Tori Jackson (Doug), Hollie Nolder, Joshua Haddox (Kelly), Nick Haddox (Jess), Ashley LaClair (Brandon), Lara Welch Fraser (Michael), Bub Welch (Jess) and 17 great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her brothers, Jerry, Ronny, and Kenny Thomas.

Pastor Mark Blakeley will celebrate Virginia's life, Saturday, January 11, 2020, at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, at 3:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family 2 hours prior to the service from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM. Private interment will take place at the Spring Hill Cemetery in Wellsville.
