Velma Reed, 91, of East Liverpool, passed away, Sunday, December 23, 2018, at the Weirton Geriatric Center.
Born, June 4, 1927, in Sistersville, WV., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Esther Mae Haught Fetty.
She was a graduate of Tyler County High School.
Velma was a member of the Lacroft Nazarene Church.
She was a homemaker and cherished her family. She would take in children that didn’t have anyone and she would love them and give them a place to call home.
Velma will be sadly missed by her children, Scott Reed of East Liverpool, Craig Reed and his wife Melissa of New Manchester, WV., David E. Reed and his wife Nicole of East Liverpool, Carolyn Green and her husband Carl of East Liverpool and Edith Gressly and her husband William of Butler, PA.; sister, Jan Heffner of East Liverpool; she will also be missed by her 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 13great-great-grandchildren.
Velma was preceded in death by her husband, William Reed; son, Charles Reed, grandchildren, Allyson Reed, Jeffrey King, Casey King, and Bryan Gressly; brothers, Frank Fetty and David Fetty; sister, Nancy Moore.
Pastor Carolyn Hardy will celebrate Velma’s life Friday, December 28, 2018, at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday, December 27, 2018, from 1:00PM-3: 00 PM and 6:00PM-8: 00 PM.
