Valerie Kay Cunningham, 59, of Chester, passed away, following a lengthy illness, Sunday, December 23, 2018, at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Born, August 25, 1959, in East Liverpool, she is a daughter of the late Richard McGurren and Mary Marie Harris Gill.
Valerie was a Catholic by faith.
She was a 1977 graduate of East Liverpool High School.
Valerie was employed as a waitress at Hoge’s Restaurant for 30 years. She spent her life giving to others and getting to know everyone she ever crossed paths with. She was everyone’s, “favorite waitress”.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of 24 years, John Cunningham; siblings, Linda Spoonmore and her husband Richard, of Golden, CO., Mary Jane Dickey of Joshua, TX., Nancy Deyarmon and her husband David of Calcutta, Paul McGurren of Clayburn, TX., James McGurren and his wife of Ikue of Colorado Springs, CO. and Debra Duprey of Chester. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews.
Rev. Katrina Lewis will celebrate her life, Monday, December 31, 2018, at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family 2 hours prior to the service from 11:00-1: 00 PM.
