Beaver, PA.

As her family gathered around her, Theresa L.  Reed entered her eternal home that Jesus has prepared for on Thursday, January 4, 2018. A resident of Beaver for the past several years, Theresa passed at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver after a Brief illness. Theresa will be remembered for her spunky attitude, boisterous laugh, and generosity. She will be sorely missed.

92 years old, she was born on February 1, 1925, in Chester, WV., to the late Wilson and Anna Douglas Mercer.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley Maddox, her son Jerry Reed, and brothers, Elmer and Jack Mercer.

Theresa was a graduate of Chester High School and she plied her trade as a chef at several area restaurants.  

She was a member of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church and the Hookstown American Legion Auxiliary.

Theresa’s legacy will live on through her family, her sons, William (Susie) Reed of Indianapolis, IN., Dwain (Rosemary) Reed of New Cumberland, WV., Chuck Reed of Wilmington, DE. And Ed (Carolyn) Reed of Cyprus, TX.; daughters, Delores (Tom) Armour of Beaver, PA. and Beverly (Clay) Brodmerkel of Georgetown, PA; her sister-in-law Pearl Mercer of Calcutta; grandchildren, Michelle (Robert) Robey, Kimberly Maddox, Stacie Shearer, Tommy Reed, Candice (Jason) Weekley, Krystal (John) Derosky, David Laughlin, Lori (Brian) Carnahan, Wendi (Kevin) Kerr, Jay (Judie) Reed, Shannon (Mike) Giambroni, Brandon Temple, George (Melissa) San Angelo, Jeremy Reed, Charlie (Christina) Reed, Brian (Tiffany) Reed, Daniel (Diana) Reed, Katie ( Josh) Wilson, BJ (Sarah) Reed, Brendan Reed, Melissa (David) Flowers, Michael Reed, Krissy Jenkins, Melanie (Marcus) Dunlevy, Yvonne (Dan) Foley,  and Alan (Kristen) Brodmerkel; and great-grandchildren, Brooke, Kyle & Allie Robey, Nicole & Nate Baldwin, Tucker & William Dobyns, Justin (Emanuel) Shearer, Jessica (William) Percy, Skylar Weekley, John, Jeran, & Jadyn Derosky, Camille & Keenan Kerr, Tyler, Brooke, & Kaitlin Reed, Andrew & Giada Giambroni, Trysten, Beckett, & Maverick San Angelo, Tristan Reed, Kayleigh & Declyn Reed, Colton, Isaac, & Lucas Flowers, Kaylene & Jace Jenkins, Maddie & Kenzie Dunlevy, Connor & Kiera Foley, and Cameron & Avery Brodmerkel.

Pastor Donald W. MacNeil of the New Brighton Church of the Nazarene, will celebrate Theresa’s life on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-7:30 p.m. Private interment will take place at the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery in Georgetown.
