Steven D. Nightingale

Steven D. Nightingale, 63 of Chester, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2019, at Allegheny General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, following a brief illness.

Steve was born on September 15, 1956, in Wellsville, OH. He was a son of the late Robert and Florence Elliott Nightingale. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Bonnie Nightingale.

Steve worked for J & L Steel in Midland for 38 years, and he retired from the same company, now Allegheny-Ludlum, in 2015. A member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester, he was a 1974 graduate of Wellsville High School.

Steve was a devoted husband, a wonderful father, and a very proud grandpa. He loved spending time with his family and laughing with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Juszczak Nightingale at home; three children, Stephen (Kristen) Nightingale of Lexington, SC., Ami (Andrew) Wasko of Pennsylvania, and Mark (Gretchen) Nightingale of Wintersville, OH.; his brother, Robert (Sharon) Nightingale of Sweetser, IN.; three sisters, Joan (Tom) Reed of Wellsville, Betty (Jim) Oyster of Grove City, OH., and Janet (Earl) Campbell of East Liverpool; and his seven special grandchildren, Austin, Anabel, Owen, Sophia, Ben, Lucas, and Aubree. Also, he leaves his mother-in-law, Fran Juszczak.

In addition to his parents and stepmother, Steve was preceded in death by one brother, Darrel Nightingale, and his father-in-law, Cas Juszczak.

Friends are invited to visit with his family on Friday, December 20 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, where Father Jeeson Stephan will preside for Catholic Funeral Rites at 6:30 p.m.
